Tango Spleen Orquesta
This Argentinian-Italian septet was enthusiastically received at our festival last year, which was reason enough to invite them back again. “Spleen” is melancholy. It is nostalgia from afar, affection for the home country and its traditions. “Spleen” is sadness and the ability to recognise it. It’s the feeling that something is missing – a fitting description of what the ensemble under the direction of pianist Mariano Speranza conveys to us with its music. It’s wonderful music to dance to, and you’ll soon have goosebumps when Mariano sings “Luna Cautiva”.
